Associate Professor Mary Dixon
Role and Profile
Mary Dixon’s research focus is on pedagogy in the locations of school classrooms and teacher education. She has been chief investigator on several ARC projects in the field and is currently leading a linkage project on the Australian History Curriculum. Mary has extensive international experience including working in Thailand and Nepal in teacher education. In 2007, she was recruited to work as an Assistant Professor within the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice at the National Institute of Education in Nanyang Technological Institute, Singapore ― the largest pedagogy research centre in Asia. In that position she led several large projects funded by the Singapore Ministry of Education.
Her area of expertise also includes research methodology with a particular contribution to the field of visual methods in classroom research. She has published widely in this area and has an international reputation for advances in the work of visuality in pedagogical research.
