Professor Diane Mayer
Role and Profile
The nominated Academic Project Director, Professor Diane Mayer’s research and scholarship focuses on the policy and practice of teacher education, examining issues associated with the professionalism of teaching and what that means for the policy and practice of teacher education within the context of economic and cultural globalisation. She has secured a range of research grants, tenders and consultancies to support this work and has published in a wide range of refereed journals, book publications and other scholarly works. As a result of the work, she has been invited to work extensively with the profession, statutory bodies and government agencies. Diane has been invited keynote speaker at teacher education conferences in Australia as well as in the US, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, China, New Zealand and Belgium. She is editor of the Taylor and Francis journal, ‘Teaching Education’, and member of international editorial boards for ‘Journal of Education for Teaching’ and ‘Teachers and Teaching: Theory and Practice’.
